The Unifor Local 707 Environment Standing Committee has developed a proposal to honour Earth Day (Wednesday April 22/26) at our Union meeting on April 19/26.

We hope to build on the success of what we have previously done and once again hold an E-waste collection on April 19/26 at the Local 707 hall.

Awareness posts such as these (included material list) on the Local 707 website to encourage members to save the date & bring E-waste for collection on April 19/26. to the LOCAL UNION HALL

The Enviro committee will also post E-waste info on FB & we recently gave a report at the March union meeting.

The E-waste that is collected will be removed from the hall and given to a Charity called Computers for Kids in Windsor.  Although this charity is in Windsor, it is supported by our sister plant Unifor L200.

The Computer for Kids program has been registered since 2004, please see attached flyer.  The Enviro committee member(s) will be responsible for removal of the collected E-waste & take to CfK in Windsor.

The Enviro Committee is working on acquiring a donation of a giveaway item such as re-fillable water bottles, coffee mugs or tree/seeds and propose to have this giveaway item drawn after the Coat draw on April 19/26

Cynthia Anderson
