Unifor Local 707- Leadec Bargaining 2021

Brothers and Sisters,

Leadec negotiations began last week on Monday September 27, 2021. Brothers Fuad Hassan, Kunal Ahluwalia and Dave Millar have taken your proposals from our August 29, 2021 Amendment meeting and presented the proposals to the company as well as the proposals presented from our Brothers and Sisters from Windsor.

We want to thank the membership for the strong show of support heading in to bargaining from our Strike Mandate Vote on Sunday September 26, 2021. The fact that 96% of the members voted in favour of striking if a deal could not be reached has helped us with our position.

The company came with their proposals as well. We are looking at continuing our bargaining sessions until late on Wednesday October 13, 2021 and hope to bring back a strong agreement that will benefit our membership.

We appreciate all of your support and understanding while awaiting a final deal. There are things that are agreed upon at this point but rather than inform members about bits and pieces, we aim to let everyone know every part of the agreement at the same time – Saturday October 16, 2021 at 1:30 pm.

As it is now after 9pm on Tuesday evening, you can be sure to know that we are looking out for the best interests of the entire membership and we want you to know that we will continue to bargain until a deal can be reached on all outstanding issues.

In Solidarity,
