How to complete an Internet Employment Insurance report

STEP 2

All those applying for Employment Insurance Benefits for the Layoff period of Sunday September 30th to Saturday, October 6th 2018 MUST report earnings using Service Canada’s Internet reporting services or Teledec (Phone reporting services).

For Internet Reporting Services

On the Internet go to:

www.canada.ca/en/services/benefits/ei/ei-internet-reporting.html

After completing the Online Employment Insurance application, Service Canada will send you a statement in the mail. This statement will show the Toll free Teledec number 1-800-531-7555 and your own Personal Access Code (PAC), a four digit number.

(DO NOT LOSE THIS STATEMENT, AS YOU WILL NEED YOUR -PAC- TO REPORT)

The Statement will indicate the first available date you can report. Make your report at your earliest opportunity, as once you receive this statement you only have 3 weeks to complete your report from the end of your Bi-weekly reporting period indicated.

The following are Questions & Answers on how to use the Internet Reporting Service and should only be considered as a guide, as you could be asked to answer more questions than the ones listed here. Different personal circumstances may also prompt the Internet Reporting Service to ask other questions.

Were you Outside Canada between Monday and Friday during the period of this report?

Answer NO (Unless you were outside of Canada during the Bi- Weekly report, in which case you would answer YES and would later be prompted to contact Service Canada to further explain your absence)

  About Your Next Report

After completing your Bi-weekly report which includes the week of the layoff from Sunday September 30th to October 6th 2018 and the week you returned to work Sunday, October 7th to Saturday, October 13th 2018, it will not be necessary to continue reporting as you will have returned to work and either established an Employment Insurance waiting period or received an Employment Insurance Benefit.

If you are on layoff again within the next 52 week period from the start of your claim you can re-apply again by completing an Employment Insurance application online, to either re-start your claim or begin a new claim. Then Service Canada would once again send your PAC and allow you to report that specific period of unemployment through Bi-weekly reports.
