IMP BENEFITS CONTINUED !

The ratification of our newest agreement has ensured continued IMP benefit payments for those that remain laid off. This means that everyone laid off, collecting IMP, will not miss a payment.

If you applied for EI benefit:

If you had applied for EI benefit as I had advised, when the company had announced that IMP payments would cease, you do not need to do anything further. Applying for EI was necessary if future income security was not negotiated. Luckily, our bargaining team was able to secure continued IMP payments. Again, if you have applied for EI benefit, there is nothing more you need to do. IMP payments will not be stopped. Therefore, there has been no break in pay, and therefore, no record of employment (ROE) will be generated nor issued. Your EI application will simply go dormant.

If you did not apply for EI benefit:

If you did not apply for EI benefit, then you do not need to apply at this time. IMP has not been stopped and will be continued as outlined in the agreement highlights.

In solidarity,
