SUB PROCESSING -When Action is Required by a Member

Brothers & Sisters,

As a very large group has or will be ending the EI claims, we felt it necessary to remind everyone, what is required of you after your current EI claim expires.

If you have exhausted all EI Benefit entitlements or your 52-week EI claim period has ended.

Action is required – Re-apply for EI with a new EI application

(In the unlikely situation) If after application, you re-qualify for a New EI claim with a New EI waiting period.

Action is Required– It is your Responsibility to provide documentation showing the start date of your New EI claim, waiting period and weekly EI Benefit Rate as indicated by Service Canada, provided in your My Service Canada Account and inform the OAC Labour Relations Department at the following email OEVCHELP@ford.com or in person

(In the most likely situation) If after application for Employment Insurance Regular Benefits, Service Canada informs you do not have the required insurable hours to qualify for Employment Insurance Benefits.

Action Required– Once you have received this documented proof from Service Canada or in your My Service Canada Account pass along your letter of EI Disentitlement, to Company Labour Relations Dept via email OEVCHELP@ford.com or in person

Ensure your Name first and last, GID# is with your documentation. Also if able send documentation in a *PDF file (*allows for quicker processing).

Two to three weeks later you should receive all entitled Sub payments.

Thereafter, you will receive 70% FULL SUB payments.

IMPORTANT REMINDER
Once it has been established that you don’t have enough insurable hours to qualify for EI, you must provide documented proof of EI Disentitlement from Service Canada to Company Labour Relations Dept via email OEVCHELP@ford.com or in person for every 16-week period if you wish to continuously receive SUB benefits.

Action Requiredif you do not qualify, you must re-apply for EI at least every 12-weeks.

We recommend that you mark the date you applied for EI and then count 12-weeks (3-months) into the the future and mark on a calendar when you need to re-apply, so you don’t forget.
