Vice Chair of Ford Council- Welcome Back

Unifor Local 707

Brothers and Sisters,

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome the members of Local 707 back from the Christmas Holiday break and wish you and your families all the best in the New Year.  As we start 2023, instability with the automotive supply chain is still an ongoing concern.  Discussions with the Company are taking place on a regular basis to best understand when and how this will affect the Oakville Assembly Complex and our Members.

As most of our membership is aware, our Plant Chairperson Bob Scott retired on January 1st, 2023.  His retirement has left a vacancy in the Plant Chairperson’s office.  With nominations for our triannual elections in February, and the elections in March, I have been asked to fulfill the responsibilities of the Chairperson’s position in the interim.  Since 2017, with the support of the In-plant Committee and the President’s office I assumed the responsibilities of the Plant Chairperson when the office needed to be covered.  I am looking forward to continuing to work with and supporting Local 707 Membership and Leadership as we move into what will be a very busy and important year preparing for 2023 negotiations.

To ensure a seamless transition for the membership and the Leadership all relevant files and information has been provided making sure that there will be no gaps in representation for our Members from the Plant Chairperson’s Office.  If any Members have questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me anytime.  My contact information is below.

To best keep informed with up to date and relevant information please continue to view our Local 707 webpage on a regular basis.  This will be the platform that the Local Leadership will continue to use to get accurate information out to you the members of Local 707.

In Solidarity,

Marc Brennan
