Unifor is in Ottawa this week! Add your name to support workers’ demands.

Members,

Workers are in Ottawa meeting with more than 110 Members of Parliament, Ministers and federal decision-makers.

Unifor is delivering a bold message this week: Act now to make investments and implement policies that will bolster and support workers and their families through any coming economic storm and beyond.

You can help us drive this demand home and defend worker’s rights by taking action. Add your name.Yesterday, the Ontario government repealed Bill 28. The draconian law that united Ontario’s workers in unprecedented solidarity and action. The law that showed just how far Unifor and the labour movement were and are willing to go to defend fundamental union and collective bargaining rights.

Worker’s rights need to be moved forward and strengthened, not just defended from attacks.

Federal anti-scab legislation is needed now. Replacement workers prolong labour disputes and undermine the right to collective bargaining.

Working people deserve government policies that meet our needs today. If there is a recession on the horizon, then government needs to act fast to protect workers.

Will you add your name and push your MP to act to support workers and their families?

At Unifor’s federal lobby week, along with the list of recommendations presented in the union’s 2023 Budget submission, workers are presenting important sector-specific demands from industries across the country.

Unifor leadership are pushing Ministers, MPs and federal decision-makers on the following four items requiring immediate action:

  • Address Canada’s affordability crisis,
  • Deliver on permanent EI reform,
  • Adopt a strong anti-scab legislation, and
  • Implement a just transition.

We need an economy that works for everyone.

In solidarity,

Lana Payne, National President
Len Poirier, National Secretary Treasurer
Daniel Cloutier, Québec Director

Brothers and Sisters,

It is a real honour to be in Ottawa this week representing Auto and all Unifor workers during Unifor Lobby week. Sharing our priorities for the 2023 budget. Our delegates have well over 100 meetings taking place on the Hill this week. Pushing the workers agenda for Anti-scab legislation, EI Reform, a just transition and affordability legislation.
