Local 707 Women’s Committee

On February 26, 2025 we encourage everyone to practice kindness and wear pink to symbolize that you DO NOT tolerate bullying.

Pink Shirt Day falls on the last Wednesday of February every year.  It was inspired by an act of kindness in small-town Nova Scotia by two teenage friends who organized a high school protest to wear pink in sympathy with a Grade 9 student who was being bullied for wearing a pink shirt.  They took a stand against bullying by distributing pink shirts to all of the boys in their school.

Visit www.pinkshirtday.ca for more information or to purchase merchandise.

In solidarity,

Maiken Griffin

Women’s Committee Chairperson

on behalf of the Local 707 Women’s Committee
