Company Robo Call & Employment Insurance Requirements for those that are once again on lay-off after participating in Job Bid

Members that were recalled, arrived on site and were paid: (*4 hours of pay and 36 hours of short work week benefits) for either job bids or training and are now once again on lay-off- will receive one of two robo calls shortly.

Hello this is the Human Resources department of the Oakville Assembly Complex, Ford Motor Company of Canada.


For employees who worked during the week ending April 17th – pay period 16 – please be advised that there will be a minimum one-week delay in Service Canada receiving your Record of Employment. This issue has now been corrected. Please ensure that you have applied for Employment Insurance benefits as instructed.


For those who worked during the week ending April 24th – pay period 17 – no delay is anticipated.
After your return to work for the purposes of job bidding, you have requalified for SUB credits. As a result of receiving IMP, you have insurable hours that need to be registered with Service Canada.

IMPORTANT NOTE-ACTION REQUIRED BY MEMBERto maintain payments of negotiated Income Security benefits

Please reapply for EI through Service Canada with your new last day of work. Once your EI claim is finalized, please ensure that you submit either your EI Denial Letter or claim details of you EI Benefit Entitlement and weekly EI benefit rate to OACHELP@ford.com and your Union Benefit Representative.


In the interim, you will receive partial SUB payments until Service Canada has provided documentation determining your entitlement for any EI Benefits and your weekly EI benefit rate. If you are denied EI, we will process your backdated top up payments at that time.
