Brothers & Sisters,

I believe in education and that it’s never to early to plan for your retirement, even if it is twenty years in the future and so too does our Union.

Which is why we negotiated educational CAAT Pension plan seminars for our Ford unit members hired on or after November 7th, 2016, who are transitioning from their Defined Contribution plan to the much improved DB Plus CAAT pension plan on January 1st 2025.

While the company did send a notice in the mail, informing members hired on or after November 7th, 2016 (see attached below) of the Seminar dates, and it was posted on our website. It was disappointing that the first seminar on October 10th, had a very small turnout.

Note: This may in part be due to registrations issues, which have since been resolved.

The last in person seminar at our Unifor Local 707 Union Hall is :

Thursday, October 24th at 10:00 am

If you are a member hired on/after November 7th 2016, please take the opportunity to educate yourself on your new DP Plus CAAT Pension Plan at this in person meeting (Note: you are no longer required to register first to attend).

If you are unable to attend this seminar in person, register for one of the two online DB Plus CAAT Pension seminars on October 22 or October 31st, 2024 using the corresponding QR code below or the QR code from the letter you would have received in the mail from the company.

*DO NOT register for the seminar if you were hired at Ford prior to November 7th 2016 and are part of the Hybrid or Defined Benefit Pension plan.

In Solidarity

Mark Sciberras

Unifor Local 707 President
