Brothers and Sisters,

2023 Negotiations

Your Local Bargaining Committee and the entire Ford Bargaining Council is honored and humbled that our National President has selected us to lead Detroit Three bargaining.

Our focus as a Bargaining Committee continues to be ensuring our members core priorities (pension, wage package, transition income and investment) as set forth during our Local 707 amendment meetings.  In addition to these core priorities there are many proposals that need to be addressed as well.  We have a lot of work ahead of us and will continue to do everything possible to provide the best agreement for our membership and their families.

We want to thank our membership for the strong strike mandate.  This mandate helps give us the leverage necessary to ensure the best possible agreement, an agreement that will benefit our members and as the pattern agreement benefit our brothers and sisters working at Stellantis and GM. Our goal as a Bargaining Committee is to reach a tentative agreement by the deadline.  However, we will only agree to a tentative agreement when we are confident it meets the collective needs of our members.

At present, we are continuing to make progress and are deeply engaged in discussions at all bargaining tables.

Labour Day

Our Local Union will once again celebrate Labour Day by participating in the Hamilton District Labour Day Parade with other Unions and Locals in the surrounding area.

All members are encouraged to join us with their families and walk in solidarity with all unions, as we celebrate and recognize; the past, present, and future importance of the labour movement in our lives, communities, and nation.

We will be meeting on Stuart Street between Caroline Street and Tiffany Street between 9:00am to 10:30 am to distribute Local 707 Shirts to members in attendance and hats for members children. The parade starts at 10:30 am and is expected to finish at Bayfront Park at Pier 4, where our Local will have a BBQ.
