2022- OAC United Way Campagin

Brothers and Sisters,

Since our Local was founded almost 70 years ago, our membership has partnered with non-profit organizations for the betterment of our communities.

The United Way has been one of our longest and most important community partners in bringing people and resources together to address immediate needs and finds long-term solutions to challenging problems.

The funds provided by the United Way are used regularly in our Employee and Family Assistance Program and Employment Equity office to help our own members in need of assistance. Simply put these programs change and save lives.

I would like to thank this year’s Local 707 United Way Canvassers who worked hard to creativity raise funds. They are;

Laura Panther

Luke Alphonso

Ron Desrosiers

Michelle Taylor

Chris Buffett

Maiken Griffin

Angelo Serafini

Francis Katotikidis

Tim Fahey

and Shauna Thorne-Zarin who has been our United Way Chairperson for the past 7 years, and has been a canvasser in over over 22 United Way campaign’s.

Finally and most importantly, I would like to thank the Local 707 Membership, who truly understand the needs of their community and donated generiously to help raise over $327,000.00 for this years Halton/Hamilton United Way Campagin.

In Solidarity,

Mark Sciberras

President, Unifor Local 707
