Brothers and Sisters,

As reported on October 14th; (EI Request for Clarification letters -Penalties & Fines) your Local leadership was in discussions with the government to address penalties and fines that our members received for collecting EI benefits from April 12th through to June 7th 2020.

We are pleased to announce that these discussions have provided some positive results. As thus far, all members that have appealed their penalty and fines, for this period, with the assistance of the Local and National Staff have seen their penalities and fines removed. This is of substainial importance for a few of our members, who were issued fines up to $2006.00.

If you receive a penality or fine for EI benefits collected from April 12th through to June 7th 2020, please let the Union Benefit Ofiice know immediately.  As it is essential for you to take the necessary steps with the assistance of the Local Leadership to remove these penalties or fines.

See attached link for the required documentation that needs to be completed and forwarded to the Union Benefit Office

In Solidarity,
