Presidents Message: Temporary Production Lay-off -Monday October 3rd 2022

This morning the company announced that there will be no production at the Oakville Assembly Complex for the week commencing Monday October 3rd, due to another parts supply shortage.

The company have indicated they will be informing our members with a robo-call, later tonight.

Employment Insurance Benefits

For those that have to start a new Employment Insurance claim or need to re-open their existing claim (as you previously declared that you returned to work full time). Make application for Employment Insurance online using our current reference code.

EI REFERENCE CODE:

Our current EI Reference code is active until October 13th

For members that are still able to report to Service Canada with their existing personal access code, continue to do so to claim for E.I benefits.

NegotiatedSupplemental Unemployment Benefits (SUB)

Temporary lay-off Supplemental Unemployment Benefits (SUB) continue to be automatic and made payable without application, for active members on a temporary lay off who have no scheduled Vacation, EAA, Sickness and Accident Insurance or W.S.I.B Benefits during the week of the temporary lay-off.
