Sickness & Accident Benefits regarding COVID-19 effective August 1, 2022

707 Ford Unit Members,

As you know, the Company implemented the waiving of the waiting period under the S&A benefit provisions of the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) for COVID-19 cases in March 2020.   Consistent with the lifting of the COVID-19 measures both internally at Ford and externally across Canada, we will notice that the Company will be reverting back to standard S&A handling of COVID-19 claims at Canada Life and apply the normal CBA provisions for such claims.  What this means is that for new COVID-19 illnesses effective August 1, 2022 onward, Canada Life will apply their standard guidelines to COVID-19 S&A claims and the waiving of the waiting period of COVID-19 illness S&A claims will discontinue.
