President’s Message – Emil Mesic Is Moving On

Brothers and Sisters it is with great pleasure that I share this information with the membership of Local 707. I’m sure everyone knows our day shift Health and Safety rep Emil Mesic. Emil has been offered, and has accepted a job with the National Union. Emil will take over as the Ford Co-ordinator for H&S. Emil has been a staple for Local 707 as the day shift H&S rep since 2002 . His professionalism and knowledge of H&S rules and regulations are second to none. Emil has been part of the bargaining team for the last 2 rounds of negotiations and his understanding and expertise in the area of H&S have been an integral part of acquiring the language we have today. His skills will certainly be missed in the day to day operations of Local 707 but that being said he is still only a phone call away and I am certain he will be available at any time should the need arise. I am confident we have some qualified people who can step up to fill the void left behind. On a personal note I would like to thank Emil for all the hard work and dedication he has devoted to Local 707. I wish you well and good luck in your new position on staff. I have asked our election chair Brother Kevin Forbes to move forward with an October membership meeting election. Please watch the boards for election information.

In Solidarity

Dave Thomas

President Unifor Local 707
